Annie Marie Abbott was born and raised in Southern California. She has since lived in Hawaii, Arizona, Europe, New Mexico, Seattle and San Francisco. She received a Bachelor’s of Science in Sociology from San Francisco State University, a second Bachelor’s Degree in Studio Art from the University of New Mexico, and a Masters in Fine Art Painting from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, California. Annie currently lives in Albuquerque New Mexico.

As a child, Annie spent her days outside in nature – swimming at the beach, hiking, biking or wondering through forests with her parents. Throughout her life nature has been her primary inspiration, the place where she finds solace, mystery and renewal.

Currently, Annie draws upon these influences of the natural world to guide her own emotional and spiritual expression. Translating the raw physical experience of living, she seeks to create and capture the organic sensation of being alive amongst endless colors, lines and textures.
